‘Relief being distributed with transparency’

Under the 'Humanitarian Assistance Program' announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to prevent coronavirus (Covid-19), distribution of daily necessities including 7 kg of rice and money to buy vegetables among unemployed, helpless and destitute were provided, in 31 wards of Khulna metropolis on Saturday.

Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq on Saturday morning inaugurated the distribution of food items to 428 unemployed low-income workers at the Daulatpur 4 No. Ward Councilor's Office premises in Khulna. 

During the inauguration, the city mayor said that the distribution of relief materials is going on with transparency. The government is distributing more food items. The government is always by the side of the people in this critical period. 

He said strict hygiene rules should be followed. Maintaining social distance and adhering to hygiene rules will protect us from this deadly virus. 

The mayor urged the townspeople to stay at home. During the distribution of relief materials Mahanagar Awami League General Secretary MDA Babul Rana, BJA Chairman Sheikh Syed Ali, Muktijoddha Nur Islam Banda, Akankha Group Chairman Sheikh Majnu, Ward 4 Councilor Mohammad Kabir Hossain Kabu Mollah, Ward Awami League President Mohammad Rauf Moral were present.
