A human chain was formed in Satkhira demanding independent curriculum development and reinstatement of BRAC University teacher Asif Mahtab while maintaining the uniqueness of madrasa education.
Organized by National Teachers’ Forum, Satkhira District Branch, the human chain was held in front of Satkhira Press Club on Thursday.
Islami Andolan Bangladesh Satkhira President AK Rezaul Karim, National Teachers’ Forum Satkhira General Secretary Mufti Salim Uddin and others, spoke at the rally.
The speakers immediately demanded that teacher Asif Mahtab be reinstated in his post and said that inconsistencies should be eliminated in the new curriculum, text books be revised, Madrasa education be kept in its own right and a separate curriculum be formulated.
If not, there will be a strong movement across the country.
