'Rehana Maryam Noor' screened at TSC again

The curtain of 'Amar Bahasa Film 1428' will fall with the ‘Hiralal Sen Padak’ award giving ceremony and director Abdullah Mohammad Saad’s film 'Rehana Maryam Noor' screened again at 12pm on the last day due to huge demand from viewers.

On the last day of the five-day event Saturday February 26, an award-giving ceremony held in commemoration of Hiralal Sen, the first filmmaker of the subcontinent at 3:30pm. The films nominated this year are 'Nonajoler Kabbo', 'Raat Jaga Phool', 'Rehana Maryam Noor', 'Chandrabati Kotha' and 'Laal Morger Jhuti'. 

Among other prominent personalities, renowned filmmaker and freedom fighter Nasir Uddin Yousuff and president of Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh, Lailun Nahar Shemi was present at the closing ceremony.

On Friday, the screenings of 'Dhire Bohe Megna', 'Alor Michil', 'Gondi' and 'Nonajoler Kabbo' took place.Gondi's director Farkrul Arefin Khan and cast members were present at the event and interacted with the audiences. On Thursday, the director of ‘Raat Jaga Phool’, Mir Sabbir and actress Jannatul Ferdous Oishee were present at the event premises. 

Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s ‘Charachar’ screened on the last day of the event February 26,  at 10 am, followed by Humaira Bilkis’ ‘Baganiya’,  Sohel Mohammad Rana’s ‘Mujib Amar Pita’, and Nurul Alam Atique’s ‘Laal Moroger Jhuti’ at 2 pm. 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm respectively. A special screening of ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ took place at 12pm.

19 contemporary and classic feature films and one documentary from both Bangladesh and West Bengal screened at 'Amar Bhashar Chalachchitra 1428' hosted by Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) from 22nd to 26th February at TSC.

The festival has received enthusiastic response from audiences so far, with housefull shows since day one.
