Red Crescent donates blood to Narayanganj mosque victims

The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society has donated blood for the treatment of patients who died in a blast at a mosque in the western part of Narayanganj city.

On Saturday, 100 units of blood (Fresh Frozen Plasma) were handed over to the blood unit of Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery National Institute on behalf of the society.

Of these, 25 units are A-positive, 30 units are B-positive, 40 units are O-positive and 5 units are AB-positive blood, the Red Crescent said.

The head of the blood department at the National Headquarters of the Youth Red Crescent said another 250 blood donors have been set up to meet the urgent need for blood.

Blood will be supplied as per the demand of the hospital authorities, it said.
