Red alert to stop rawhide smuggling at Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has issued a highest alert in bordering areas of Benapole to prevent the possible smuggling of rawhide generated during the Eid-ul-Adha.

Commanding Officer of BGB-21 battalion, Lt Col Emranullah Sarker said they imposed the restriction on the movement of rawhide-carrying vehicles in the frontier areas, including Benapole and Putkhali, from Thursday morning.

BGB members have already started their patrol along the border, he added.

The paramilitary force also urged people living along the border to remain alert in this connection. The rawhides has no market Value till now, so it will very much possible to smuggling to India through this border.  

The restriction will remain in force until further instruction.

However, Eid-ul-Adha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims has celebrated across the country on Monday.
