Recognition of Saleha Begum as language soldier demanded

An exchange meeting was held in Mymensingh district civic movement on the initiative of the Saleha Begum Language Soldier Recognition Board to demand recognition of the late Saleha Begum Bahasa Sainik, who was expelled for hoisting a black flag in a class 10 student of Muslim Girls School in Mymensingh in 1952. At the meeting, it was decided to launch a constitutional movement for the recognition of language soldiers.

Saleha Begum, a 10th class student of Muslim Girls' School in Mymensingh, was expelled from the school for hoisting a black flag in 1952 on the demand of recognizing the language soldier.

It was chaired by Bir Muktiyodba Engineer Nurul Amin Kalam, convener of Saleha Begum Bahasa Sainik Recognition Board and general secretary of Mymensingh district civic movement and chaired by member secretary poet Swadhin Chowdhury. Editor Advocate Shibbir Ahmed Liton, Syeda Rokeya Afsari Shikha, Syed Shakil Ahad son and daughter of language soldier Saleha Begum Advocate Syeda Farida Akter, General Secretary of Mymensingh Divisional Press Club Md. Nazrul Islam, Treasurer of Nagarik Andolan Abdur Razzak Munna, Teacher Leader Sultan Ahmed, Cultural Organizer Abul Mansur Ahmed, Principal Nurjahan Begum, Senior Teacher Ahna Nasrin, Nadira Sultana Happy, Bank Officer Mostafa Md. Khairul and others.
