A meeting of City Steering Committee under Rajshahi City Corporation was held at Sarit Dutta Gupta Conference room of Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday noon aiming at the improvement of livelihood of the marginal group of people living under RCC.
The meeting organised under the Improvement of Livelihood of Marginal Group People Project was attended and addressed by the President of Rajshahi City Committee, Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton as the chief guest.
Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said RCC is working to improve the quality of life and livelihood of the marginal group of people living under RCC. Under the Project of Improvement of Livelihood of Marginal Group People, a house loan is being disbursed for the homeless people, infrastructure is being developed, roads and drains are being constructed. He called upon the concerned authorities to grant more fund for the project in future.
RCC Mayor further said honourable Prime Minister has pledged to make houses for the homeless during the Mujib Year that is why RCC is also working to implement the pledges of the Prime Minister.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Member of the committee, RCC Panel Mayor-1 and commissioner of ward-12 Shariful Islam Babu, Chief Executive Officer of RCC Dr ABM Sharif Uddin, Chief Health Officer of RCC Dr AFM Anjuman Ara Begum, Advisor Poet Ariful Haque Kumar, PS of Mayor Alamgir Kabir, Chief Community Development Officer Azizur Rahman, Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department Roknuzzaman, Sub-divisional Engineer of Public Works Department of Rajshahi division Engineer AM Iftekhar, Executive Engineer of LGED Saniul Haque, Social Welfare Officer of the Department of Social Welfare Ashikuzzaman, Deputy Director of the Department of Women's Affairs Shabnam Shirin, Executive Engineer of RCC Nur Islam Tushar and Town Manager Abdul Quiyuum Mondal.
