In Hajipur Union of Begumganj Upazila of Noakhali, a young woman (22) accused man of raping her multiple times. The young woman is currently 3 months pregnant. The rapist and his family beat the victim for protesting the incident.
On Wednesday night, the victim became the plaintiff and filed a case at Begumganj Model Police Station. The victim is a resident of Hajipur Ward No. 2.
According to the complaint source, Roman (35), son of Momena (Member), a reserved woman member of Ward No. 1, 2, 3 of Hajipur Union, forcibly raped the young woman against her will by showing intimidation since last Ramadan Eid. Due to family problems, parents and elder brothers often stayed out of the house. The young woman used to live with her 3 younger brothers in their living room. Since the Eid of last Ramadan, Roman, the son of the female member, had been forcibly raping the victim in her bedroom almost at night. After 1 month of this incident, the victim's mother came home and informed her about the matter.
Later, he informed the local public representative and the accused Roman's family about the matter. Enraged by this, Roman and his family beat them several times. At present, when the girl is 3 months pregnant, if she asks Roman for marriage, her family members threaten to kill the victim and her family to leave the house and if she complains to the police station. According to this, on Wednesday afternoon, the victim was working at the Pond Ghat next to the house.
At that time, Roman and his brother Rubel came and killed him by punching him and leaving him injured. Later the people of the house rescued him while injured and admitted him to Begumganj Upazila Health Complex.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Begumganj Model Police Station Mir Jahedul Haque Rony confirmed the matter and said that the police visited the scene and the hospital after receiving the information. Police operations are underway to arrest the accused in the incident.
