Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-7 Chattogram has arrested Shahadat Hossain, accused in a sensational rape and attempted murder case in Patiya Upazila on Monday morning in a raid.
Shahadat Hossain is the son of Nurul Alam of Kachua union of the upazila.
It is learned that on July 10, Shahadat Hossain raped a 21-year-old girl in Guatli area of Patiya'sChanhara Union. He then stabbed her in the back with a knife at night and fled.
Later, the locals saw the girl with her entrails out on the side of the road and took her to Patiya Upazila Health Complex.
After receiving the news of the incident, the elder brother of the victim filed a case of rape and attempted murder with the Patiyapolice station.
When the incident caused a stir in the area and through social media, RAB started a shadow investigation of the incident.
