Rangpur division recorded 6.59 percent Covid-19 positivity rate as six fresh cases were reported after testing 91 new samples at two laboratories on Saturday.
Health officials said the positivity rate marked a small rise today in the division, where the pandemic situation continues to improve almost during the last four months. Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 1.83 percent on Friday, 3.28 percent on Thursday, 1.71 percent on Wednesday, 3.87 percent on Tuesday, 3.24 percent on Monday and 1.33 on Sunday last in the division. Among the six new patients, one was reported positive after testing 14 samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) at the positivity rate of 7.14 percent today.
"The only new patient is hailing from Rangpur city," Principal of RpMC Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu told at 6:15 pm. On the other hand, five more new patients were reported after diagnosing 77 samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur at the daily positivity rate of 6.49 percent on Saturday.
