Rangamati Municipal authority placed a budget of Tk125.45 crores for the fiscal year (FY) of 2019-2020, giving highest priority for the infrastructural development in the town at the conference room of District Sports Association in Rangamati on Sunday.
Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), Sacheton Nagorik Committee and municipal authority of Rangamati jointly organised the ‘Open Budget Announcement Programme’.
In the proposed budget, Tk49.31 crore was earmarked as government allocation for implementation of different development projects under the annual development programme (ADP), implementation of special projects and construction of municipal office, Tk56.40 crore was shown as own income from revenue sector and Tk10 crores was un-spent money.
Mayor of Rangamati municipality Akbar Hossain Chowdhury presided over the programme while vice-president of CCC Md Bulbul Ahmed moderated the event. Ward councilor Kalayan Chakma addressed the welcome speech.
On behalf of mayor, account officer of Rangamati municipal office Md Faruq Ahmed announced the budget.
