Netflix began streaming "Animal," a film starring Ranbir Kapoor, on its platform on Friday.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri. Despite receiving criticism for its portrayal of women, misogyny, and graphic violence, "Animal" became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2023.
Ranbir Kapoor expressed excitement about the film's digital premiere on Netflix.
"We are absolutely overjoyed by the response 'Animal' received in theatres and now I am glad that audiences worldwide will get a chance to watch it in the comfort of their homes. The opportunity to showcase our work globally is truly special," the actor said in a statement.
In addition to Hindi, the film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on Netflix.
"Animal" is an action drama that explores the dynamics between a father and son. The film was produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Pranay Reddy Vanga.
