Rajshahi will turn an exceptional city: LGRD Minister

LGRD Minister Tajul Islam has said,' Rajshahi is being developed. Rajshahi would turn to an exceptional city in future.'

LGRD Minister Tajul Islam was talking to the journalists during the inauguration of the 6.793-kilometre four-lane link road from Alif Lam Meem to Bihas crossing in Rajshahi on Saturday morning.

Minister Tajul Islam further said,  the works needed to infrastructure development and public welfare in Rajshahi are being performed by the Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation. The developments indcicate that Rajshahi would turn to an exceptional city in future. The government was equally paying significance to Rajshahi. This city would turn to a modern city in the country. 

The inagural function of the road was held at the Baro Rastar crossing of the city. Presided over by Mayor of Rajshahi City Corpoation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, the function was attended, among others, by Senior Secretary of LGRD division Helal Uddin Ahmed as special guest. 

Taka 189.345 crore four-land road project includes footpaths on both sides of the road, one bridge, eight culverts, median and traffic syem. Under the project, 120 metre ramp and 202.5 metre long fly-over at a cost of Taka 29 crore 28 lakh 77 thousand have been constructed. 

LGRD Minister Tajul Islam arrived in Rajshahi this morning. He also visited the mausolem of martyred national leader AHM Kamruzzaman and offered floral tribute there. Later, he also offered prayer at the majar of hazrat Shah Makhdum (Rh) and offered prayer there. In the afternoon, the minister visited the proposed Bangabandhu river view city areas inside the river Padma.
