An auto van puller named Rajkumar has set an example by donating his hard earned money of an amount of Tk 50 thousand for the welfare of the poor people affected by coronavirus.
He handed over the money to the former Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhenaidah, Saroj Kumar Nath for the people who were leading inhuman lives during the corona virus pandemic in first phase.
In order to show respect to the noble man and acknowledge him for his notable work, Jhenaidah Municipality Mayor and General Secretary of the Jhenaidah district unit Awami League Saidul Karim Mintu provided him with Tk one thousand and a saree for his wife. It was handed over in a simple ceremony at Jhenidah municipality premises on Friday morning.
Saidul Karim Mintu told the media that Rajkumar, a poor auto-van puller, had saved an amount of Tk 50 thousand for the purpose purchasing a piece of land in the town. He donated this money for the people affected by corona to the then DC Saroj Kumar Nath without considering his family’s welfare.
To show respect to the noble man, the municipality authority had decided to hand over Tk one thousand and a piece of saree for his wife. The mayor said the money would encourage him to continue with the good works.
