Rain likely to decrease today, increase again from Sunday

Rainfall has increased across the country since July 4. Heavy rains have caused flooding in low-lying areas of Feni and Comilla districts in the southeastern part of the country.

This rainfall may decrease slightly from Thursday. Rain may decrease in the capital Dhaka from Thursday afternoon.

The Meteorological Office said that although the rain has decreased since Thursday, there is a risk of increased rainfall again from Sunday.

Meteorologist Kazi Jebunnesa said that that the rain does not stop completely during the monsoon season. However, the rain in the country may decrease slightly in the next two days compared to the past few days.

However, there will be a risk of heavy rain in some places along the coast during this time.

The regular weather forecast for Wednesday said that light to moderate rain/thunderstorm accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur in most parts of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and in many places in Rangpur division on Wednesday.

Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions.

Day and night temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged on Wednesday.

In the 24 hours from 6 am on Tuesday to 6 am on Wednesday, heavy to very heavy rains occurred in all divisions of the country except a few places in Rangpur division
