A paved road in Jalali mouza of Baragaon union of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila has been destroyed due to continuous rain for several days. Three thousand people of Jalali village have fallen into extreme difficulties due to this.

There was a culvert, but two years ago, Mozammel Haque, a resident of the village, bought a 12-acre plot of land behind the culvert and built a house.

Due to the closure of the culvert, there was no drainage system for rain water, which caused floods in the area due to heavy rains in the last few days.

Consequently, due to the lack of drainage system, rain water flows over the paved road and the road on the opposite side is broken by the flow of water.

Abdur Rahman, a resident of Bargaon Union, of the village said that the road was broken by waterflow therefore vehicles cannot move on the road.

Local UP chairman Prabhat Kumar Singh admitted that the road had collapsed due to rainwater, adding that the matter had been reported to the concerned department.
