Railway employees demand change in recruitment rules

The promotion process of the employees working in the 11-20th grade working in Bangladesh Railway has been closed for a long time, along with the amendment of Recruitment Rules-2020, the Office Employees Council issued a memorandum to the Director General of Bangladesh Railway on 8 point demands.

   Employees working in the offices of CRB, CCS, DRM, DEN, Factory, store Depot in Bangladesh Railway located in Chattogram took position and gave memorandum in the office of General Manager (East) on Monday morning.

 The working employees staged and assembled in the CRB premises along with procession.  The meeting was presided over by Abzurul Haque (Tuhin), Convener of Office Employees Parishad Bangladesh Railway. 

On the occasion, a rally was held under the direction of Shantanu Das.  Md. Sirajul Haque, Member Secretary of Office Employees Parishad, representatives of various departments- Tamanna Binte Azad, Imam Hossain Ujjal, Mustafizur Rahman, Ferdous Rahman, Md. Noornabi, Farida Akhter and members of Office Employees Parishad Committee spoke on the occasion.

 Khandkar Saiful Islam (Mamun), joint general secretary of the Central Railway Workers League, expressed solidarity with the said demands in the meeting.

 The speakers said that the demands of the employees for revising the recruitment rules, maintaining the same posts in the 47000 manpower structure, providing risk allowance, providing uninterrupted power and water supply, justified the demands written in the memorandum and called on the railway administration to take immediate decisions to increase the mobility of work by complying with the demands. 

 Railway General Manager (East) Md. Jahangir Hossain assured that he will take steps to take all measures including sending these claims to the DG office.  After handing over the memorandum, convener Abzurul Haque (Tuhin) announced the end of the meeting by asking them to wait for further instructions.
