Railway Service Week was inaugurated in Chattogram with the slogan 'Sheikh Hasina's Vision, Development of Railways'. ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP, President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railway Ministry inaugurated the Railway Service Week by blowing up balloons as the chief guest on Tuesday morning.
General Manager of Railway Eastern Zone Jahangir Alam presided over the meeting. Former City Mayor and Chattogram Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary AJM Nashir Uddin was the special guest.
Besides, train passengers were welcomed with flowers and chocolates on the occasion of Railway Service and Safety Week.
Bangladesh Railway is offering special services on the occasion of service week. Schedule of trains, platform viewing, condition of overbridges, condition of electricity-water-lights in moving trains and bathrooms and activities of assigned officials will be monitored.
