A three-day long ‘Rag day’ festival of the students of 16th batch of Khulna University (KU) was inaugurated on the campus on Wednesday amid much festivity and enthusiasm.
Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr. Mohammad Fayek Uzzaman inaugurated the ‘Rag Day’ by releasing balloons on the Hadi Chattar premises of the university. After the inauguration, a colouful possession, colour festival and cultural programmes were also held on the campus. The campus has put on a festive mood on the occasion. Main entrances of the campus have been decorated magnificently.
Mazeda Akter, student of KU, said that Rag Day is a celebration of a leaving time, a happy ending of an unhappy moment. It is a day of thrill and great fiesta to everyone, especially for the outgoing students.
The formal programme will be held on today (Thursday) and a concert will be held at Mukta Mancha on the campus on tomorrow (Friday).
