State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid has said Radharman Dutta is a great folk poet of Bengali folk music. Dhamail song, composed by him is a treasure trove for the Bengalis in Sylhet and as well as in India.

Radharman has made a permanent place in the minds of the people by utilizing his talent and philosophy. The Ministry of Culture has taken up a project to build a 'Radharman Cultural Centre' at Keshabpur village in Jagannathpur of Sunamganj, his birthplace. Hopefully, they will be able to send the project to the Planning Commission by June 2022. The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at an exchange of views with local cultural leaders and dignitaries organised by the upazila administration in collaboration with 'Radharman Samaj Kalyan Sanskritik Parishad' on the occasion of visiting the site of construction of Radharman Cultural Centre at Keshabpur village in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj on Saturday. The chief guest said that the greater Sylhet region is a town rich in folk culture. Apart from Radharman, folk thinkers like Raja, Shah Abdul Karim and Durbin Shah were born here. The state minister for culture said that an initiative has been taken to preserve every creation of lyricist Radharman Dutt. Attempts are being made to preserve all his creations unaltered.

He said Radharman Dutt's property had been illegally occupied for 60 years. Initiatives have been taken to construct Radharman Complex by rescuing that property (3 acres 14th century) through legal process and for that purpose 60 per cent land has been allotted and the project has been taken up.
