The RAB has launched a special operation at several government offices in Cox's Bazar. As many as 20 brokers have been arrested and fined by mobile court during the raids.

The operation was carried out at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, BRTA, Land Office and Passport Office from Sunday morning to afternoon.

A broker named Mohammad Yunus was jailed for seven days after he was arrested on charges of cheating people at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for treatment. Shaker Ahmed was jailed for 30 days and a man named Rubel was fined Tk 10,000 for brokering car licenses and driving licenses at the BRTA office.

At this time the BRTA officials were warned not to keep in touch with the brokers. A man named Shah Alam was fined Tk 5,000 and Jasim Uddin Tk 2,000 for harassing people who came to the land office for services. Syed Alam Prakash Shimul and Mohammad Jasim were fined Tk 10,000 and Tk 6,000 respectively. Passport office broker Shimul is also known as a fake journalist. Going to the spot in this operation, it was seen that in the presence of the magistrate and the RAB, many officers and employees of the concerned organization left the workplace. As a result, the people who come to the concerned institutions to get services had to suffer.

Cox's Bazar RAB-15 Deputy Commander Tanvir Hasan said, "RAB is running this campaign as part of the campaign to free government agencies from brokers." 20-25 people have been detained since morning. Several of them have been jailed and fined. The rest have been warned. This campaign will continue to curb down the crime rate.

Cox's Bazar Acting Magistrate Md Abul Mansur, who runs the mobile court, said if there is any contact between the officials and employees of any office with these brokers, then legal action will be taken after checking it.
