RAB nabs two for impersonation

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday arrested the ring leader of an international fraud gang from the city along with her associate.

They became Brigadier General and Major General only paying 400 US dollars to a Philippines-based website 

RAB also seized drugs from their possessions.

Talking to the Bangladesh Post, RAB-4 Director Md Mozammel Haque confirmed it.

The arrested were identified as Esrat Rafiq Ishita and her close associate Md Shahidul Islam alias Didar.

They were cheating people introducing themselves as Brigadier General and Major General, said the RAB-4 commanding officer.

On a secret information, a team of RAB-4 raided Mirpur area in the capital on Monday and nabbed the two top frauds.

The elite force also seized huge numbers of fake identity cards and certificates being used for forgeries in various ways.

Five bottles of foreign alcohol and 300 pieces Yaba pills were also seized.  

As part of the cheating, Ishita managed the rank of Brigadier General from Philippines-based website IPC.Phil.com.

Her associate Shahidul also obtained Major General rank in such way, said RAB-4 boss.

Ishita used to misuse social media and some IP TVs for campaigning her such fake degrees and ranks.

RAB personnel claimed that Ihsita completed her MBBS degree in a private medical college in Mymensingh district in 2004-2005 session. Later, in 2014, he joined a hospital as a doctor.  She also worked in a government organization as a physician on contract basis. But she was terminated due to her undisciplined activities.

She claimed that she obtained various higher degrees including MPH, MD and DO degrees.

She was circulating her false medical theory in providing treatment of the cancer patients claiming herself as cancer specialist.

She published her various so-called research papers and articles titled ‘Health problems and health care seeking behaviour of street children in Dhaka City’, ‘Perception regarding acute respiratory tract infection among mothers of under five children’ in various websites.

She also claimed that she was awarded various international degrees from abroad.

She was running Young World Leaders for Humanities, which was not registered by any government organizations.

Under the banner of this fake organization, she organized several programs at home and abroad. She was also giving awards to many people in exchange for money.

She claimed that she has memberships of many global organizations including American sexual health association (ASHA), National cervical cancer coalition (NCCC), Global goodwill org, USA, Young world leader for humanity, Global Peace chain, Global human right project, Counter crime intelligence organization, International Police Commission and International Police Organization. 

A case was filed against them in this regard.
