The anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion( RAB) arrested a top drug dealer along with his close associate from city’s outskirts Narayanganj.
Lt Col Arif Mohiuddin, Commander Officer of the RAB-3 confirmed it on Tuesday.
He said, the arrested were identified as Md Mohsin, 40 and his top associate Pintu Sarker, 24.
Getting secret information, our team put a cheek post on Dhaka-Chattagram highway in Meghna New Town area under Sonargaon Police Station of Narayanganj district on Monday night.
After searching the vehicle, we seized 100 kilograms cannabis from their possessions, he added.
During their primary interrogations, they admitted that they were supplying drugs in and around the Dhaka city or long times. In guise of transport workers, they are mainly involved in drug smugglings, the RAB-3 boss claimed.
Pinto was a carpenter and the kingpin Mohsin brought him in the illegal drug trading for around four years. Mohsin was earlier arrested on November 3 last year from city’s Hathirjeel area with huge drugs, RAB said.
A case was filed in this connection and the arrested were handed over to the local police.
