The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) in separate drives arrested five drug peddlers from Gajaria area of Munshiganj district and Sonargaon area of Narayanganj.
RAB also recovered 67 Kilogram hemp, 214 bottles phensidyle from their possessions and seized a pick up van and two private cars. Media officer of RAB-11 Md. Rezwan Sayeed Ziku confirmed the matter at a media brief. According to RAB-11, the drug peddlers were going to Dhaka from Cumilla district. RAB set up check posts on the highway, held the accused and recovered narcotics. The other raid was conducted at Sonargaon area in Narayanganj. The detainees are Yasin Mia, 26, Monir Hossain, 20, both are from Cumilla district while Ehsanullah alias Russel, 41, hailed from Narayanganj, Roni,20, and Mujibur, 38, hailed from Dhaka.
Three separate cases were filed with Gajaria and Sonargaon police station in this connection.
