RAB nab 3 with Shiva Lingam

The members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 have arrested 3 traffickers along with a 12-inch long stone Shiva Lingam in Sirajganj.

On Friday afternoon, it was recovered from the west courtyard of Hamidur Rahman's house, also known as Labu, in the village of Dabirganj under the Solanga police station. At that time, 1 motorcycle was seized from the traffickers.

The arrested individuals are: Mohammad Jahangir Alam Bablu (52), son of the late Saidul Islam from the village of Bhangri in Solanga police station, Mohammad Shahidul Islam (52), son of the late Harun ar Rashid from the same village of Dabirganj, and Mohammad Kofil Uddin (48), son of Abul Kashem from the same village.

On Saturday, RAB-12's Additional Superintendent of Police Dipankar Ghosh provided this information in a press release.

The press release mentions that on Friday afternoon, a 12-inch long stone Shiva Lingam weighing 94.260 kg was recovered from the small room of the tin-shed house at the east door of Labu's residence in Dabirganj village. At that time, 3 traffickers were arrested. Additionally, 1 motorcycle and 3 mobile phones in their possession were seized.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that the valuable stone Shiva Lingam was kept with them for the purpose of being trafficked abroad. A case has been filed against the arrested individuals at the Solanga police station.
