Dinajpur RAB-13 members and officials of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department raided a counterfeit drug-manufacturing factory and seized a large quantity of fake drugs as well as raw materials in Thakurgaon on Thursday.
In this connection, fraud physician Abdul Hai, son of late Samsul Haque of Nandgaon village in Haripur upazila of the district was fined Tk 1.5 lakh, for prodicing drugs without license and selling expired drugs.
The money was collected immediately. According to RAB, based on secret information, led by RAB-13 Lieutenant Abdullah Al Mamun and ASP Samuel Sangma, Executive Magistrate Md. Abdullah Al-Noman Sarker conducted a raid in Nandgaon of Haripur upazila of Thakurgaon.
The confiscated drugs and drug-producing raw materials were then burned and destroyed in the presence of dignitaries.
