The rapid action battalion (RAB) personnel in Jhenaidah have arrested two drug vendors and seized a pistol and 60 bottles of contra banned phensedyl syrup on Friday night. The arrested were Forhad Hossain, 33, son of Mohamamd Ali of Ramnagar village in Jashore Kotwali police station and Milon Hossain, 38, son of Shawkat Ali of Betlapara village in Bagherpara upazila of Jashore.
RAB 6 company commander Major Mohammad Shariful Ahsan said acting on a tip off, the elite force had set up a check post and conducted drive in front of Jagusha government primary school in bordering Moheshpur upazila. They stopped the motorbike used by the duo and seized an unauthorized foreign pistol, 60 bottles of phensedyl syrup and the motorbike they were riding on.
The RAB authorities had filed a case with Moheshpur police station in this connection and handed over them to the police.
