Rapid Action Battalion(RAB) arrested two life term convicted fugitives in two separate drives in the capital Dhaka and Chattragram on Monday.
They were arrested as Md Faruq, 28 and Md Shahin Miah.28.
Faruq was arrested from city’s Gulshan area while Shahin was arrested from Sitakunda Upazila under Chattagram district.
However, talking to the Bangladesh Post, Senior Assistant Director of RAB-2 Shihab Karim confirmed it on Wednesday.
Earlier on November 7 in 2017, Saudi Arab repatriate Md Khorshed was hacked to death.
Faruq, son of one Md Mahbubul Hoque, haling from Cumilla district. Shahin, son of one Md Mozammel Hoque , hailing from same area. According to the case statement, victim lived 18 years in Saudi Arab. He sent Tk 17 lakh to his wife Sajeda Akter in addition to the regular family expenses. Before the incident, Khorshed demanded the details expense of the huge money.
Instead of giving the accounts, his wife made dillydally. Over the financial issue, family disputes were intensified. At one stage, Khorshed went on missing. Seven days after his missing, police recovered the body of Khorshed.
Victim’s daughter filed a murder case against Faruq and Shahin and other in this connection. Both Faruq and Shahin were arrested in the case. After three years in jail, the duos secured bail and went on hiding.
The local court sentenced Faruq and Shahin to life term imprison in the case and issue warrant against them. The elite force enhanced their surveillances to arrest the convict and finally nabbed them from the capital Dhaka and Cumilla in a joint operation by a team of RAB-2 and RAB-7. The RAB-2 official Shihab Karim said, the arrested convicted criminals were handed over to the local police.
