RAB arrests two drug peddlers with 48 KGs of hemp

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)on Saturday night arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with huge amount of hemp from city’s Tejgaon area.

Talking to the Bangladesh Post, ASP Abdullah Al Mamun of RAB-2 confirmed it on Sunday.

Getting secret information, a team of RAB-2 raided at Tejgaon Industrial 

area on Saturday night and halted a speedy truck.

After searching the vehicle, the RAB personnel seized  48 KGs of hemp from the truck.

Later the elite force arrested the two drug peddlers.

They were identified as Md Polash Mojumder,42 and Md Jahirul Islam,21.

During the primary interrogation, the arrested criminals admitted that they were involved in drug peddling from long times.

They were collecting hemp from different district and were selling in the capital Dhaka and it’s adjacent area.

A case was filed in this connection with the Tejgaon Industrial Police Station.

ASP Mamun said, “ We shall continue our drives to arrest the other accomplices of the arrested drug peddlers.”
