Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday arrested the lone killer in connection with killing beef trader Mamun Hossain from Madaripur.
The arrested was identified as Md Mizanur Rahman alias Khokon.
He allegedly stabbed to Mamun death by for selling meat at a lower price.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin disclosed it on Monday while addressing at a press conference at its media center Karwan Bazar area in the capital Dhaka.
We arrested Mizan from Shibchar in Madaripur, he added.
According to him, arrested Mizanur went into hiding after killing Mamun. A joint team of RAB-5 and RAB-8 arrested Khokon from Shibchar on Sunday night.
Earlier on January 20, Mamun was hacked to death for selling beef at Tk650 per kg as per the price fixed by the government at Arani Bazar in Rajshahi's Bagha upazila.
Mamun and his cousin, accused Mizanur were selling beef for Tk700 side by side. During a heated altercation between the two over price, Mamun was fatally stabbed by Mizanur in broad daylight.
He was rushed Mamun to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. But he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Local sources said Mamun and Mizanur used to do business together. Later, they separated their businesses.
