RAB-7 arrested a smuggler named Nur Alam (38) along with 1 thousand 50 liters of stolen fuel oil from Bayezid Bostami area of Chattogram. The equipment of the ship was recovered.
Arrested Md. Nur Alam is the son of Sekander Howladar of Chotosifa area of Galachipa police station of Patuakhali district. RAB-7 Assistant Director Md. Nurul Abchar confirmed this information on Tuesday.
He said, on the basis of secret information that stolen ship fuel oil was being sold on the paved road in Shershah area, Md Nur Alam was arrested along with a pickup carrying stolen ship fuel oil in a raid at 10.30 pm on Sunday. At this time, 1 thousand 50 liters of stolen fuel stored in 35 oil tanks and various stolen equipment of the ship were recovered from the pickup.
At that time the pickup carrying oil was seized. Nur Amin has been illegally procuring stolen fuel oil for a long time and selling it wholesale and retail at relatively low prices. The estimated value of recovered fuel oil is Tk 84 thousand. The accused and the recovered oil and equipment have been handed over to the police station for further legal action.
