RAB arrests 2 oil thieves in Ctg

RAB-7 has arrested two members of a gang that steals oil from various government-private vehicles. They were held with 3,000 liters of stolen oil and a vehicle used for transporting the stolen oil.

They were arrested from inside Shawkat's garage at Anandabazar junction under Bandar Police Station in Chattogram City.

The arrested are: Md. Shahabuddin (33), son of late Abdul Malek of Mile Mata area of Bandar Police Station of Chittagong City, and Md. Shahin (29), son of Abdul Alim of Balurchar of Lalmohan Police Station of Bhola District.

According to RAB-7, the arrested Md. Shahabuddin and Md. Shahin used to buy diesel illegally and keep it for sale with the connivance of dishonest drivers of various government and non-government organizations vehicles withChattogram City Corporation.  Later it was sold at wholesale and retail prices at relatively high prices.  The stolen diesel price is aboutTk 2 lakh 4 thousand and the price of the seized truck is about Tk 20 lakh.

 The arrested have been handed over to Bandar Police Station, said RAB-7 Assistant Director Md NurulAbshar.
