RAB arrest 4 JamatulAnsar Fil HindalSharqiya militants

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Tuesday arrested four militants who are members of new militant group JamatulAnsar Fil HindalSharqiya from Patiya upazila of Chattogram district.

The arrestees were identified as Hossain Ahmed, 22, hailing from Patuakhali district, Nihal Abdullah, 19, hailing from Cumilla, Al Amin from Cumilla, converted Muslim Al Amin alias Partha Kumar Das from  Khulna. According to the RAB  Headquarters official release, these four Islamist terrorists had left their homes for taking military training in secret militant dens in CHT.

RAB personnel arrested them while they were trying to go into hiding in the plain land due to the ongoing special anti-militant operation in the CHT areas.

During the primary interrogation, the arrested militants admitted that they were radicalised by their close friends and relatives. Later, they joined the militant outfit.

They left their houses in different times for getting military training.

Arrested Hossain was a student in a local madrasa in Cumilla. In 2021, he joined the terrorist outfit through one Siraj.  Later, Siraj introduced him with militant leader Rakib.

In November 2021, he went to hill areas and participated in military training. When security forces started special anti-militant drives in CHT area, Hossain went into hiding in a small group.

Al Amin was also a student in a local madrasa in Cumilla. He was radicalised in 2021 through one of his classmates. In August 2021, he left house for joining militancy. At one stage, he went to the CHT for taking military training through militant leader Rakib.

Converted Muslim Al Amin-2 alias Partha Kumar Das, hailing from Khulna, did not finish his high school education. He embraced Islam with the help of aa local Imam. Later, he came to the capital and started working as security guard. He joined militancy through militant leader Siraj.

In November 2021, he went to the CHT area for getting military training through militant leader Rakib.

Nihal Abdullah was a first year college student. In 2020, he introduced himself with arrested militant leader Imam Habibullah and joined militancy. He too left home on 23 August last year. He hid in different areas of the country under the supervision of top militants. He planned to carry out terrorist attack several times.

However, security forces foiled the plan.  In September last year, he went to the CHT area and took part in military training through militant leader Rakib.

He was one of the eight youths who had left their homes in Cumilla.
