Bangladesh secured nine medals, including seven individual and two team medals, at the 21st Junior and Senior Open Artistic Gymnastics Championship 2026 held in Singapore from June 3 to 7, with students from Quantum Cosmo School and College playing a pivotal role in the country's success.

All seven individual medals won by Bangladesh—three gold, two silver and two bronze—were claimed by students of the Lama-based educational institution in Bandarban.

Quantum students also contributed to both team medals won by Bangladesh in the junior and senior categories, making them instrumental in every medal secured by the national team during the competition.

The standout performer was junior gymnast Utingwang Marma, who created a record by winning three individual medals—two gold and one bronze.

He captured gold in the junior vault event with a score of 13.500, finishing ahead of a competitor from South Korea. He also won gold in the still rings event with 12.150 points and secured bronze in the floor exercise event with a score of 11.600.

Another junior gymnast, Menton Tony Mro, won gold in the pommel horse event with a score of 13.150. The score is the highest ever achieved by a Bangladeshi gymnast in the pommel horse event at the Singapore Open Artistic Gymnastics Championship.

In the junior category, Mongching Pru Tripura earned a silver medal in the horizontal bar event with a score of 11.700.

In the senior division, Rajib Chakma won silver in the vault event with 12.700 points, while Uhaimong Marma secured bronze in the horizontal bar event with a score of 12.150.

The list of individual medal winners from Quantum includes Utingwang Marma (two gold and one bronze), Menton Tony Mro (one gold), Mongching Pru Tripura (one silver), Rajib Chakma (one silver) and Uhaimong Marma (one bronze).

Quantum students who contributed to the junior team bronze medal were Utingwang Marma, Menton Tony Mro, Mongching Pru Tripura and Prenthai Mro. In the senior team event, Rajib Chakma and Uhaimong Marma were among the medal-winning members.

Saleh Ahmed, in charge of educational services at Quantum Foundation, said Quantum gymnasts played a major role in Bangladesh's achievements at the championship.

"With the support of the Gymnastics Federation, our students have achieved remarkable success. Quantum Foundation provides education, accommodation, healthcare, nutrition and advanced gymnastics training to these students from an early age. Their achievements demonstrate that children from remote areas can reach international standards when given proper guidance and opportunities," he said.

The success of the Quantum students has generated widespread appreciation in Bangladesh's gymnastics community and highlighted the growing potential of the country's young athletes on the international stage.
