Pvt diagnostic centers, clinics raided in Chuadanga

Health Department officials raided private diagnostic centers, clinics and hospitals in Chuadanga. The operation was carried out in Chuadanga Sadar Hospital area on Sunday noon.

This drive was conducted to ensure compliance with the 10-point guideline and conditions issued by the Department of Health.

Chuadanga acting Civil Surgeon Dr Aoliar Rahman and Chuadanga Sadar Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sajjad Hossain conducted the operation.

Meanwhile, private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers were ordered to comply with these conditions.

The guidelines state that under no circumstances can anesthesia be administered in chambers or diagnostic centers except in registered hospitals and clinics. No surgery can be done without Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) recognised specialist anesthetist. 

Hospital services cannot be provided with a diagnostic center license.

Acting Civil Surgeon of Chuadanga Dr. Aoliar Rahman said, went to the operation and found evidence of various types of irregularities. Akhitara Nursing Institute and General Hospital has been fined Tk 10,000 and Digital Bangla Xray & ECG Tk 2,000 due to irregularities and several institutions have been warned.

He also said that during the inspection we found irregularities in some hospitals and diagnostic centers. They were initially fined a small amount of money to warn them and asked to fix them immediately.  These will be monitored regularly.
