Demonstration processions and rallies were held in Shariatpur town on Sunday by district Awami League demanding punishment for the accused in the murder case of former PP and Awami League leader Habibur Rahman and his brother Monir Hossain.
Former PP Habibur Rahman and his brother Monir Hossain were shot dead on October 5 in 2001. The trial of the notable murder case has been stuck for 19 years.
The procession went from district Awami League office to the Deputy Commissioner's office. MP from Shariatpur-1 constituency Iqbal Hossain Apu led the procession. District Awami League president Sabedur Rahman, general secretary Anol Kumar Dey and others addressed the rally.
