Locals including students, teachers and staff of Pashchim Gopinathpur Champa Bohumukhi High School formed a human chain demanding exemplary punishment for those involved in the violation and murder of Hira Moni in Lakshmipur on Monday.
The human chain was organized next to Dalalbazar and Gopinathpur school. Headmaster of the school Nasima Akhter, teacher Nizam Uddin Rony, Anwar Hossain, local Habibur Rahman, Zakir Hossain and others were present at the time.
The participants in the human chain expressed their displeasure as there was no significant progress in the investigation of the case even after 10 long days have passed since the murder.
They urged the administration to be vigilant so that no influential parties could affect the investigation.
On last Friday (June 12), Hira Moni, a ninth grade student was found violated and murdered by miscreants at her home in Dakshin Hamchhadi Paschim Gopinathpur village of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila.
Hira Moni came to her house alone from her grandfather's house on Friday morning to prepare to go to Dhaka for her father's treatment.
