Bangladesh Police Nari Kalyan Samity (Punak) distributed warm clothing among about 500 cold hit people at Jhenidah Police Lines on Sunday. Punak Jhenidah district unit president Nahida Afroz, also the wife of police super Hasanuzzaman, distributed the clothing as chief guest.
Police super Hasanuzzaman, additional superintendents Milu Mia Biswas, Tarek Al Mehedi, Kanak Kumar Das, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Ariful Islam, probationary ASPs Nurangir Nahid, Mahiuddin Miraz, Punak vice president Laila Akter, Rashida Khatun, Ritu Das, Sumaiya Suchana among others present.
Poor centurion Ganga Dasi and octogenarian Soneka Rani when asked about their reaction in receiving the blanket, said it was a safeguard for the distressed people like them to protect them severe cold bite.
