Vocalist Promi Taj lives in New York, USA and has won the hearts of New York audiences. Promi Taj is especially popular with the expatriate Bengalis for her singing. She started singing from a very early age. With age, she gradually became more enamored with music. She learned to sing from Kaberi Das, daughter of Pandit Ram Kanai Das. The singer also trained for some time with the legendary musician Subir Nandi. Now she focuses her full attention on singing.
Even though she was living abroad, she regularly sings Bangla songs. Promi wants to bring Bangla songs to the world’s attention. Promi Taj said, ‘Even though I left the country at the age of eight, I could not forget my love for the country and the language. As the days pass, my devotion towards Bangla songs and language is increasing. When I receive the love and admiration of the audience by singing Bangladeshi songs, I feel very grateful. Promi Taj's first solo album was released in 2015. The album was titled 'Priyota'. The album's songs were well-received. The singer is once again preparing for a new album. If all goes well, the album will be released on Valentine’s Day next year, said Promi Taj.
