‘Progress in every sector’

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni MP said that progression has touched every sector of the country.  “Our per capita income is now about two thousand dollar. All of us have to work from their respective positions for the country,” she said. 

She said these while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Premier Division Cricket League, organised by Chandpur District Sports Association in Chandpur Stadium on Tuesday.

Dr Dipu Moni, also Joint General Secretary of ruling Awami League, inaugurated the match. She said, "Those who have taken part in the Cricket League, I think they will learn the behavior of the players through playing and will be formed as good citizens. They will possess healthy bodies and minds, and they are away from all kinds of social disorders, militancy, drugs, terrorism, eve-teasing etc. They can inspire others to keep away from such evil deeds.” She also said, “We will take Chandpur forward from all aspects including sports, culture and education. To do that, the local businessman should come forward with sponsors.”

Majedur Rahman Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur, presided over the programme, while Superintendent of Police Jihadul Kabir Pipam, district Awami League President Alhaj Nasir Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Abu Nayeem Patwari Dulal and Secretary of the Cricket Committee of the District Sports Association Sheikh Motaleb were present there as special guests. General Secretary of Chandpur District Sports Association Golam Mostafa Babu was also present in the program. 

A total of 8 clubs will participate in T20 matches.
