On the occasion of National Mourning Day, mourning rallies and prayers have been held in different wards of the city on Saturday as per the previously announced programme of Bogura Municipal Awami League. The programme was held in wards 20, 7, 14 and 15 of the district town.
Bogura Municipal Awami League President and Gabtali Upazila Chairman Rafi Newaz Khan Robin, General Secretary Abu Obaidul Hasan Bobby and other party leaders participated in these programs. Ward 15 Awami League held a mourning rally at Charmatha Central Bus Terminal area of the city at 11am following health rules.
Ward Awami League general secretaries Sahidul Islam Ratan, Abdur Razzak, Abdus Samad Mukul, Shahiduzzaman Mona, Nurul Alam, Shipon Sarkar, Liton Pramanik and others were present at the rally led by Bogra Municipality panel mayor and ward councilor Aminul Islam. At the end of the rally, a doa mahfil was held at the ward councillor’s office.
Prayers were also offered on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyrdom of Bangabandhu's wife Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib. Khatib of Central Bus Terminal Mosque Maulana Shahadat Hossain conducted the prayers.
