Mr. Abul Bashir Khan is currently working in SMC Enterprise Limited as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to SMC, he worked with Social Development Foundation (SDF) in the Division of Bank & Financial Institutions under the Ministry of Finance, Govt. of Bangladesh as Director, Finance & Procurement. He had worked with NGO Forum for Public Health as Chief, Finance & Accounts. Mr. Khan is a multifaceted management professional with 24 (twenty four) years of diversified experience in financial management, financial planning, cost & budgeting, internal control and compliance area.
Mr. Abul Bashir Khan started his professional career as Accounts Officer with Monno Group of Industries in late 1995. In 1998, he joined Caritas Bangladesh and worked for more than 6 years at head office, led Caritas’s Audit and Financial monitoring department. In 2005, he joined SQ Group and worked as Head of Internal control department. Afterwards, in 2007 he joined in SMC and hold the position of Head of Internal Control, Head of Grants, Compliance and Admin prior assuming his responsibilities as CFO in 2016.
Masters in Accounting from University of Dhaka, Mr. Khan is the Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and Member, Institute of Internal Auditors -IIA Global-USA & Local Chapter-Bangladesh.
Mr. Khan is a contributor of The Financial Express and The Bangladesh Observer. He has many other engagements like he is a Question setter and Examiner of ICMAB. He conducts various workshop/seminar as key note speaker in ICMAB. He is a Member, Journal Committee and IFRS & Cost Accounting Standard Committee of ICMAB. He is a Life Member, Accounting Alumni, University of Dhaka. He is a Trustee, MAWTS –an exclusive technical education institute (a trust of Caritas). He is also a Treasurer, Partners for Better Life-an organization for social development. He is also the Past President of Rotary Club, Dhaka Sadar.
He is a Discussant of Business and finance related issues arranged by different electronic and print media. During his professional career he attended many training/seminar/workshop programs at home and abroad.
