Professionals holds exceptional protest program in Ctg

Expressing solidarity with the logical seven-point demands raised by the Bangladesh Diploma Engineering Student Teachers Professional Sangram Parishad, the members of the Bangladesh PWD Diploma Engineers Association, Chittagong District Committee, expressed exceptional protest through positive movement by working one hour extra after office hours. This protest program was held last Thursday evening.

After the a protest meeting was held at the Rahmatganj Samity office of the Bangladesh PWD Diploma Engineers Association, Chittagong District Committee President Md. Nur Uddin presided over the meeting. IDEB Interim Central Executive Committee Joint Convener (Chittagong) Engineer Md. Joynul Abedin, Diploma Engineering Student Teachers Professional Sangram Parishad, District Committee Convener Engineer Mohammad Rahim Ullah, Member Secretary Engineer SM Tarek, and Central Council Vice-President (Chittagong) Mohammad Taufiqur Rahman were present in the meeting. The leaders of the district committee, Mohammad Jahangir Alam Bhuiyan, Deepak Barua, Md. Morshedul Alam Chowdhury, Azizul Islam Ajmir, Abu Mohammad Aris, Md. Golam Munham Joarddar, among others, spoke. The meeting was conducted by General Secretary (Acting) Sourajit Barua.

The speakers said that some misguided students of various engineering and technology universities of the country are trying to destabilize the engineering sector by raising baseless, unrealistic and unreasonable three-point demands against diploma engineers under the banner of 'Engineer Rights Movement' on an issue resolved by the existing law of the country. Untrue and baseless information regarding the appointment and promotion of the Public Works Department is being circulated in various media.

Which all the member engineers of the Bangladesh PWD Diploma Engineers Association, Chittagong District Branch have strongly condemned and rejected.
