Pro-Vice Chancellor (Pro-VC) of Chittagong University (CU) Prof Dr Shirin Akhter has taken the charge of the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university. She took the charge on Thursday.
A press release, signed by Habibur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of Education Ministry's Secondary and Higher Education Division, confirmed the appointment.
Prof Dr Shirin Akhter will perform routine works as the VC until appointing a new one.
Lone female member of Election Commission (EC) Search committee Shirin Akhter joined CU as a lecturer of Bangla department in 1996.
