Procession in Sharankhola seeking communal harmony

Processions, human chains and road shows have been held at Sharankhola in Bagerhat to protect communal harmony. Organized by Sharankhola Sammilita Sampriti Udyog (PFG), the program was attended by leaders of various political and social organizations, imams, priests, religious leaders and people from various walks of life.

The rally started from Sharankhola Press Club premises at 10:30 am on Thursday  and ended at Panchrasta. District Awami League member M Saiful Islam Khokon, Upazila Awami League general secretary Asaduzzaman Milon, teacher leader Professor Sabbir Ahmed Mukta, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Oikya Parishad president Babul Das, Upazila Kendriya Moufati and Upazila Kendi Jamebi spoke at the road meeting chaired by PFG president Ismail Hossain Liton. Muniruzzaman, Awami League leader M Wadud Akon, Tapu Biswas, Juba Dal convener Ibrahim Mollah and others.

The speakers said, Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. Here people of all races and religions live together in peace. 

Recently, in a few isolated incidents in different parts of the country over religious issues, a clique has tried to disrupt the peace. Everyone should keep a watchful eye on all those intrigues.
