Problems for Real Madrid as no player wants to leave

Published : 02 Aug 2025 08:38 PM

Real Madrid are facing a serious challenge in their attempts to improve their squad, as none of their first-team players are willing to leave, despite the limited minutes available.

The club has attempted to transfer some new players to balance the group, but interest from abroad has been minimal, while agents have not helped facilitate departures.

This lack of will has made coach Xabi Alonso's job difficult, especially at left-back, where Ferland Mendy, Fran Garcia and new signing Alvaro Carreras are currently competing for a place in the lineup.

Furthermore, rumors of Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr. leaving have faded, as there has been no offer that meets the financial demands of the players or the club.

According to Marca, each Real Madrid player received an average of 850,000 euros in bonuses last season, despite the lack of La Liga or Champions League titles.

These amounts include bonuses for winning the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Club World Cup – a lucrative tournament that took place in the United States.

Very few clubs manage to offer such hefty bonuses, even when they win major titles. Real Madrid did not secure any major trophies last season, but the income from international competitions was considerable.

This favorable financial situation and the club's global reputation are perhaps the main reasons why none of the players want to leave the "Santiago Bernabeu".
