A prisoner was pronounced dead after being brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Sunday.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost in-charge Bachchu Miah confirmed it.
The deceased was identified as Aiqur Rahman, 42. He fell sick at Keraniganj Central Jail around 5am, said jailer Shakil, who brought Atiqur Rahman to the hospital.
Then he was taken to the emergency department of DMCH. Later, the on duty doctor declared him dead at about 6:45am.
According to Jailer Shakil, Atiqur fell sick early Sunday. As per permission of the jail authorities, he was taken to the hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead around 6:45am after some tests.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
