Department of the Primary Education of Khulna division has received 97.70 textbooks for distribution among the students of primary schools in the new year-2024 in all 10 districts of the division.
A total of 77, 48,443 text books were received for the students from pre-primary to class five in the division while 79, 30,510 books were allotted, according to Divisional Primary Education Officials.
The officials said 2,99,275 textbooks and 2, 99,275 exercise books were received for pre-primary students. Besides, 74, 49,168 books were received against allotted 76, 31, 235 books for primary students (Class one to five).
Deputy Director of Primary Education of Khulna division, Md Moslem Uddin told BSS that they have received 77, 48,443 books, 97.70 percent of the allotted text books for pre-primary and primary students of the division, on January 24 in 2023.
"We are expecting that the remaining allotted books will be received after upcoming 12th general election. The received text books have already been dispatched for distribution among the students in all primary schools of the division on the first January, 2024," he added.
Meanwhile, Khulna divisional commissioner Helal Uddin Sharif is expected to distribute pre-primary and primary text books among students at Adarsha Model Government Primary School on January 1, 2024 as chief guest.
