The prices of broiler chickens and eggs have started increasing again in Chattogram markets within a week. A dozen of eggs and a kg of chicken have increased by Tk 15-25. Meanwhile, the price of vegetables and fish does not match relief. There is no vegetable below Tk 50.
Broiler chickens, which were sold at Tk 155 last week, were being sold at Tk 175-180 in some markets in the city on Saturday. The price of domestic chicken rose by Tk 20-25 to Tk 540-550 per kg. Also, farm eggs which were sold at Tk 130 last week are being sold at Tk 140.
Chawkbazar is a trader in raw market, the production and supply of chicken is low. Social events grew on him. So the price of chicken has increased. Apart from this, the price of eggs also increases due to the increase in wages and transportation costs.
On the other hand, different types of fish are being sold at high prices in the fish market. Tk 350 fish per kg, Tk 150-300 for tilapia and pangas fish. Farm horn fish 170-220 rupees. Where fish is Tk 200-240, a kg of Pabda fish is being sold at Tk 600.
Hilsa market prices are beyond the reach of common buyers. Large size hilsa is being sold at 1200-1800 taka, medium size hilsa at 800-1000 taka and small size hilsa at 500-600 taka.
