Khulna Zila Parishad has provided scholarships to poor and meritorious students on Thursday.
Among the 450 students selected from the district for the year 2018-19 and 2019-2020, scholarships worth Tk 1.35 lakh, Tk 3,000 each, were distributed.
Khulna Zila Parishad Chairman Alhaj Sheikh Harunur Rashid inaugurated the distribution of scholarships as the chief guest.
He called upon the students to spend the scholarship money on educating and developing themselves as good citizens of the country.
Panel chairman-2 Chowdhury Mohammad Raihan Farid, Zila Parishad members Sheikh Abu Zafar, Kabir Hossain, Nahar Akter were the special guests at the function, presided by Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad Md. Asaduzzaman.
Assistant Engineer Hafizur Rahman Khan, Administrative Officer S. M. Mahabubur Rahman, Accountant Soma Das, officials and employees of the Zila Parishad and journalists were present there too.
